Our history    

1990

CRIJ Réunion was born!

A team at the service of young people, with the mission of informing and supporting all members of the public, with priority given to 13-30 year-olds, in all their life projects, in order to promote their independence and access to rights.


2000

The CRIJ moves to 28 Rue Jean Chatel in the centre of Saint-Denis.

Previously located in rue Maréchal Leclerc, we moved to larger premises in rue Jean Chatel.


2006

We were awarded the Jeunesse et Education Populaire (JEP) quality label.

The Ministry of National Education and Youth recognises us as a privileged partner that respects the criteria of freedom of conscience, the principle of non-discrimination, democratic operation, transparency in our management, equal access for men and women, and access for young people to our governing bodies.


2010

We recruit our first Civic Service, the first of many

Ludovic was recruited as a Civic Service volunteer. He went on to join CRIJ Réunion as an employee and is now the longest-serving member of the team.


2011

We obtain the European Voluntary Service (EVS) accreditation

CRIJ obtains accreditation as a sending and coordinating structure for EVS.


2012

Departure of our first European Voluntary Service (EVS) volunteer

Our first volunteer flies to Spain for a 9-month assignment. CRIJ will follow 55 other volunteers throughout Europe.


2012

We are awarded the OFAJ (Office Franco-Allemand pour la Jeunesse) label.

The CRIJ becomes an OFAJ information point, providing young people with information on Franco-German mobility schemes.


2016

The CRIJ runs an experiment for the Fonds d'Expérimentation pour la Jeunesse (Experimental Fund for Youth)

The CRIJ is leading an experiment to improve the information offered by public administrations to promote access by young people aged 16 to 30 to the rights and services that concern them.


2016

Complete overhaul of CRIJ's activities and team

A new dynamic is launched to better meet the needs and expectations of our users by working in partnership with local institutions and structures.


2017

CRIJ supports the CAF de La Réunion's Promeneur du Net experiment

CRIJ is the first organisation in the French overseas departments to run this scheme, which aims to better inform and support young people and their families in the responsible use of social networks and the Internet.


2018

The CRIJ obtains the European Solidarity Corps quality label (Support organisation and reception)

CRIJ, the first organisation in the French overseas departments to respond to the call for ESC projects, is coordinating a project to send 4 young people from Réunion to Greece on a mission linked to sustainable development.

We set up our fully datadocked training organisation

Creation of our PRESTIJ our fully datadocked training organisation. Discover our training catalogue.


2019

New Youth Information labelling framework for CRIJ Réunion

Within the new national labelling framework, the CRIJ is renewed in its missions as a generalist first-level information platform for young people.


2019

One of our training courses receives the Grande Ecole du Numérique label!

Implementation of e-rik@, a training programme for digital mediators accredited by the Grande Ecole du Numérique (GEN).


2019

CRIJ signs the accreditation agreement for Civic and Citizenship Training (FCC)

With over 10 years' experience in welcoming, tutoring and supporting Civic Services, we can now help train young people involved in Civic Service in the 200 approved organisations in the region, all using active teaching methods. Discover the training content.

CRIJ delivers CADIJ study (Knowledge base on access to rights and youth information)

The results: a map of 1,422 facilities and 446 players on and off Réunion for 13-30 year-olds and a survey of 1,834 individuals on their access to rights and information. Find out more about the studies carried out by CRIJ

The CRIJ is officially recognised as being in the public interest

The first CRIJ in France whose actions are recognised as being managed in a disinterested manner and responding to the general interest of our users: young people.

The CRIJ is officially recognised as a socially responsible company.

This recognition certifies that all our actions are socially useful and in the general interest. It is now possible to make a tax-deductible donation to CRIJ Réunion for both individuals and companies.

The CRIJ signs the Charter for Responsible Citizen Recruiters

By signing this charter, CRIJ is committing itself to promoting civic engagement at all stages of our operations and to acting ethically and responsibly in the service of our employees and the common good.

CRIJ becomes Europe Direct Information Centre (CIED) La Réunion - Mayotte

To promote European citizenship, the CIED acts as an intermediary between citizens and the European Union at local level.

This certification attests to the quality of the process implemented by CRIJ to develop skills.

Delivery of the Youth360 portal

To facilitate access to rights and promote independence, the CRIJ, in collaboration with Région Réunion, is delivering the Portail Jeunes360 for young people on Réunion.
